Vinyl flooring, made from plastic, became popular because of its versatility, comparatively bright colours, crack-resistant nature and its low-maintenance cleaning requirements. Though linoleum (which unlike vinyl is made from all-natural materials) has become synonymous with vinyl, the two types of flooring actually have different cleaning requirements.
